Flora A. Schmidt serves as the Executive Director for Iowa Behavioral Health Association and Training Resources. Flora’s primary role is to provide strategic leadership and operational management to the organization consistent with its mission and vision as well as providing leadership to the staff team. Flora is a career long member of the Iowa Society of Association Executives and brings 20+ years of senior leadership in association management to the organization having previously served as the Iowa State Director Concerned Veterans for America; Executive Officer Home Builders Association of Iowa; and as Executive Director for Iowa Plastics Industry Consortium, Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce and Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce. Flora is a member of the IWLC ~ Iowa Women Lead Change Founder’s Circle, State Co-Chair for scholarships and serves on the Central Iowa steering committee. She is an avid reader and deliver books for the WDM Library homebound program. An Iowa native, Flora grew up on the family farm outside Bellevue, Iowa and holds a B.A. from Iowa State University and the Institutes for Organizational Management (IOM) certification from the US Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

 

Penne Gatton, Fiscal Agent, CFO
Penne Gatton is a certified public accountant and serves as the Fiscal Agent and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Iowa Behavioral Health Association (IBHA). In this role, she is responsible for invoices, membership fees, registration fees, sponsorships, billing, monthly reporting and annual budgeting tasks for IBHA. Prior to joining the association, Penne was a client service representative for RSM Penne Gatton McGladry, Inc. where she performed annual reviews of client financial statements. She also prepared clients’ personal and business tax returns. Before joining RSM Penne Gatton McGladry, Penne worked as an adjunct professor of Accounting I & II at the Des Moines Area Community College. Penne has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa.

 

Becky Woodcock, Event Manager
Training Resources

Becky Woodcock serves as an Event Manager for Training Resources, a subsidiary of the Iowa Behavioral Health Association (IBHA). In this role, she oversees grant management including writing grant applications and managing the organizations grants and event management where she oversees nearly 45 trainings each year. In her role as event manager, she oversees program development, budget management and continuing education credit. Prior to joining Training Resources she was the Office Assistant for Creative Impact and also served as a case manager for the Illinois Department of Public Health. Becky has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Psychology from Southern Illinois University.

 

Deb Milligan, Office Assistant
Training Resources
Deb Milligan serves as the Office Assistant for Training Resources, a subsidiary of the Iowa Behavioral Health Association. In this role, she assists the Training Resources team plan and execute training events. Prior to joining Training Resources, Milligan worked in the Benefit Department of Pioneer Hi-Bred International, now known as DuPont Pioneer. In this role she handled the administration of the company’s 401 (k) savings plant, purchase program, pension program, payroll processing and general employee benefit administration. Prior to working at DuPont Pioneer for seven years, Milligan handled payroll for the Hansen Company and worked for Massey-Ferguson Company for 20 years in the Accounting and HR Departments. Milligan has a Junior Accounting Degree from the American Institute of Business (AIB).

Erin BowersErin Bowers, Event Coordinator
Training Resources
Erin Bowers serves as an Event Coordinator for Training Resources, a subsidiary of the Iowa Behavioral Health Association (IBHA). In this role she provides conference management and marketing skills for IBHA’s member agencies as well as for non-member entities, and is responsible for development strategies that meet the training needs of Iowa’s substance abuse prevention and treatment professionals. Prior to joining Training Resources, she was a Certified Prevention Specialist.  Erin has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Family Services from the University of Northern Iowa.

Autumn McGill serves as an Event Coordinator for Training Resources, a subsidiary of the Iowa Behavioral Health Association (IBHA). In this role she provides conference management and marketing skills for IBHA’s member agencies as well as for non-member entities, and is responsible for development strategies that meet the training needs of Iowa’s substance abuse prevention and treatment professionals. Prior to joining Training Resources, she was an intern in the Event Marketing department for Victoria’s Secret PINK. Autumn has a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Event Management from Iowa State University.
